This session covers the following topics:

• Influences on curriculum
• Models of curriculum design and development
• Student engagement in curriculum change
• Students as co-creators of the curriculum

This session explores internal and external influences on the curriculum, including student demand, national policies and international trends; developing an understanding of models of curriculum change; engaging students in processes of curriculum change and renewal; creating opportunities for students to become co-creators of the curriculum at local and institutional levels.

Biography:
Camille Kandiko Howson is Senior Lecturer in Higher Education and Academic Head of Student Engagement at King's College London. In a cross-institutional capacity she works on student engagement and experience enhancement initiatives at KCL, including coordinating student surveys, voice and feedback processes. She provides leadership in terms of engaging students and staff with areas of educational development policy and student engagement with educational enhancement. Her research focuses on international and comparative higher education, with areas of interest in curriculum change, student engagement and learning gain.

Please note that a £30 charge will be levied against University of Portsmouth Departments where a member of their staff has booked but not attended, unless DCQE has been notified of their absence at least 48 hours prior to the time of the event.
